Basically, ride on the left side of the road.
Sidewalks are for pedestrians only. Cyclists must yield to pedestrians.
Wear a helmet.
Do not drink and drive. Do not ride a bicycle if you have been drinking.
At intersections, obey traffic signals and stop lights, and check for safety. At junctions with traffic lights, cross the road after the light has turned green and check for safety. At intersections with a stop sign, be sure to stop and check for safety before crossing.
